An update and our 2011 Christmas Card

I'm not sure if anyone follows this blog still, but thought I'd update just in case.. as well to have a place where I can come many years from now to see how my baby (now a big boy) has grown! I really hate that, since starting my photography business, my family photos have taken a back seat, I'm guessing that's quite common. I seriously haven't even editing the photos from Luke's 2nd birthday... three months ago!!! So I took some time and got a few photos and blog post together and put it up on my pro blog here

Below I'll be sharing those same photos, mostly because they're the only photos of my gorgeous boys that I've edited in a long time! I'm also going to be sharing our Christmas card with you all first! I'm so excited that I'm ahead of the game, I feel, with our Christmas cards ordered in November! As a photographer, it's hard to set aside time for personal family portraits for a number of reasons... the first and primary reason that I'm picky about who I'd hire as a photographer, and the photographer that I'd hire is now out of our budget (of $0 since my hubbs lost his job a couple months ago and I'm planning on taking off 3 months after Logan arrives). So yeah, our priorities have changed a little which means no formal family session this year (will be the first year we've skipped a session since being married almost 5 years!) and also no newborn photos (which I can't even believe I'm bringing myself to say!).

For our Christmas card my sister helped taking a few photos just to get that "one" for the card and then I took a couple of Luke and Luke with Trev for the backside. It's fine, in all honesty, one good family shot is really all we need so I'm ok with what is.

I'm praying that I'll feel well enough when Logan arrives to be able to set up a few newborn shots of him. If my recovery is anything like it was with Luke, it's not looking good... but I'm praying for it to be different, and God always hears my prayers.. let's just hope he answers this one ;)

So, if you want to read a little on Trev getting laid off (and what our plan is), Logan's growth and my status at 35 weeks, and a little of what Luke's into these days, check out my blog post (the link above).

Here are some recent photos of Luke flying his first kite. All photos were taken with my new Canon lens, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II (no judgement, I had to sell my 85L to almost cover the cost of the new lens, and then I just sold my 135L, too, such a sad day - that is such a gorgeous lens!).

and here's one I love, that didn't make it on the Christmas card, taken at our quickie family session this past weekend <3

and now, our Christmas card. I'm in complete love! I ordered them from Miller's Lab (won't be receiving until Friday) on a new stock, Premium Bamboo and I absolutely can't wait to receive them and send them out! Let me know what you think. The design is from Sweet Pea Baby on Etsy, love her! Nanette was so quick and easy to work with, I highly recommend her!

Thanks for letting me share with you, if you're reading ;) Next on my To Do list? Update Luke's baby book before Logan arrives... I only have 1.5 years to update so it shouldn't be so daunting... right?! Lol.

Happy Thanksgiving!
