Day 1

it begins today. day one of working out at the gym (where i can be competitive with the stranger on the treadmill next to me, haha) and eating healthy. my goal is to not get too obsessed with either (contrary to my nature), but to work towards a healthier, leaner (who am i kidding, not even my ankles are lean at this point! and fingers, forget it!) lifestyle.

i'm fortunate that i have an amazingly supportive hubby who has encouraged me to start weaning Loges from breastfeeding (a decision that did not come easy) so that I can start taking care of myself, making myself a priority, too! no more morning nursing, instead i hit the alarm on my iPhone at 4:15 am, close my eyes for another 5 minutes and then jump out of bed to start layering the sports bras (right now i'm at 4!!!) before leaving the house at a quarter to 5 where i meet my friends (either at the park for a jog - more like walk) or the gym. today is actually day three of working out but day one of making healthier eating/food choices.

i really should take a before photo. i've already taken measurements and weight (which i'm at my all-time high, but that's ok, more reason to change that, right?!), but maybe a monthly photo check in will help with motivating me to keep on truckin'.

i'll be sharing my weekly weight loss here. as competitive as i am (even with myself), i'm going to take it slow and aim for 1-2 lbs a week. i'll never go back to counting almonds (like i was doing when i met Trevor almost 8 years ago), lol, so i do realize i'll likely never get back to my Sydney Bristow-esque figure (bummer, i love her, she kicks ass!). things have changed for me over the past 8 years, i don't have the 3 hrs+ a day to workout in the gym and plan every single piece of food that goes into my mouth.

i'm scared and excited. scared that i'm going to get completely obsessed with this (which i've already warned Trev of, which he's saying, at this point, is fine... we'll see how long he can wake every morning for those 5am feedings without feeling resentment :)and excited about being healthy!

i want to be able to run and play with my boys and not complain that my feet or back hurt. i want to be able to throw Logies up in the air and not throw my back out. to be able to sustain a day at disneyland... more importantly, i want to be here for them when they're older, healthy... without having to take medication to make my body work "right."

i'm sharing here because it's the beginning for me and, in all honesty, i need to hold myself accountable. and now you know. i have to come back here and share my success... because i will not fail... i can do anything i want to do... right? haha. of course i can ;)
