I'm Sick... but Luke got new toys today...

hubbs took the day off of work so he could stay home with Luke while i got some much needed rest. last night I felt like i was coming down with the flu, my body was all chilly and achey. this morning i woke up and was feeling worse so, with exception of feeding Luke (i EBF), i couldn't take care of my son :( all 20 lbs of him felt like 100! my arms ached like i had just lifted weights for 4 hrs.

i got an email from walmart that Luke's highchair came in so while Luke was napping, the hubbs ran out to get it (i think he was just as excited as i was).

sick as i was, i managed to run to the door when i heard the doorbell ring. the UPS man, my favorite visitor :) one of the two carseats we ordered came in today (see carseat post below.. we decided to purchase both the britax boulevard and sunshine kids radian to compare them). again, i do believe the hubbs was just as excited as i was, maybe more even, that he got to be home to put together two new toys for Luke. it's so much fun having a baby!!! oh - and not certain about the carseat... i asked hubbs, "so, is the carseat ready to be tried out?" his reply, "uh, i think so?!" well i don't think so! not until he can say that again with more certainty this time :/

so here's Luke in his highchair, doesn't he look like he's having so much fun?! it's going to be so nice to sit him at the table with us, getting him closer to be ready for solids, yay!

Carseats, carseats, carseats!!!

ahhh! why does everything we do, every single purchase, have to involve so much research?! ok, i get it, safety. carseats, especially, require so much research because we want to make sure we get the safest seat possible. ugh! so we had our minds made up, the britax boulevard. then someone on the bump suggested the graco myride 65, then my sil intro'd us to the sunshine kids radian... omg! can we make a purchase already (that's me, patience of a 2-year-old!)?!

so, after hours and hours (and hours) of research, of taking polls on the bump (that counts as research too right, lol), and talking to the BRU salesman (I made the mistake of asking if he was "educated on the subject," lmao that guy knew everything (and then some) on every single carseat on the market! he made my endless-hours of researching look like cramming!), we finally made a decision... i think... da da da daaaa...

britax boulevard :)

radian sunshine kids xtsl was a very close runner up (the lack of recline was the deal breaker here).

i wish i could say that it ends here, the endless hours of research are over... but nope, something probably equally as important, like say, a spoon :) will reveal itself soon enough i'm sure. no worries, i'm sure i'll be blogging about that spoon soon enough too ;)

Updates...

I've been wanting to do separate posts for each, but just can't find the time. I'll also be updating with pics when I DO find the time :) For now, this is what I've been doing for the past couple of weeks:

1) New reclining glider & ottoman came in. Oh how I love thee! I can't believe I waited this long to get it in the first place. It's a definite improvement from the original non-reclining glider in the nursery; it's a better match to the nursery furniture, and oh so much more comfy. Dutailier Ultramotion Sleigh Glider w/Ottoman.

2) Baby book. OMLord, someone help me please?! I'm addicted to this thing. I'm looking for all kinds of ways I can spend more money on this dang book. I just want it to be perfect! The cool thing is that it's completely customizable! Anything I want, she can create. So, my baby book has turned into two (so far), one baby book (birth - 1 yr) and one toddler book (1 - 5 yrs). I'm still adding things/pages/inserts to the baby book, and completely working with Kobie on ideas for the toddler book. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39218091

3) Just ordered and should be receiving Luke's first Valentine's Day cards. Woot woot, they are delish (scroll down a few posts to see the card). I can't wait for people to be completely surprised when they receive them in the mail. I even have my perfect little red glittery pen to address all the envelopes with. Now just have to go out and buy V-day stamps... Hmmm, hoping they have V-day stamps!

4) Just got Luke's photo album up-to-date. That boy already has over two albums full of pictures! I've been trying to cut back on how many pictures I print out but gersh, they're all just so dang cute!

5) And Mommy needs work, too :( Started WW a few weeks ago, started exercising a couple/few times a week, and going to the dentist tomorrow (BOO!). I just find it SOOOO hard to make time to take care of myself when all I want to do is immerse myself with Luke and projects for Luke. I know I have to take care of myself, it's just so hard to be motivated.

That's all for now, Luke is waking up so "me" time is officially over :/
