luke cut his first little tooth last Thursday. i've been so busy with the aftermath that i haven't had much time to blog. poor little baby, for the most part he's doing well, we've only had to give him tylenol a couple times.
rewind to last thursday. i was nursing him around 5:30, dh was already home. luke kept pulling off (which isn't really uncommon these days), but he only ate a total of 2 minutes before he started screaming and pounding his hands into me (my arms and breasts, wherever they landed really). when he dug both fists into my arms, screaming, i knew something was wrong. so i pulled him off, laid him on the bed and, sure enough, i felt the tooth coming through! i tried to check it out but luke was doing all he could to shut me out. dh came to help soothe him, i ran to get the teething rings in the fridge, a cold wash cloth, teething tablets, you name it, i had it out! after we were able to soothe him a little (thank you hyland's teething tablets), i was able to snap some pictures. again, luke wasn't being very cooperative.
you can't really tell but dh is swabbing his left ear, trying to get him relaxed so i could take the shot

fast forward a week: luke, for the most part, has been his usual cheery self with exception of a few days. yesterday, especially, was an exhausting day for both of us. he was super fussy (which is so unlike him) and nothing seemed to soothe him. it seemed like all he wanted to do was sleep, but needed me to nurse him to sleep or else he'd start screaming if we got anywhere near his crib (again, not like him). i didn't mind of course, and days like these just make me so much more grateful that i get to be home with him! daddy's home with us today, so glad luke gets to hang with him and give mommy a little down time... i'm exhausted, more emotionally, trying to figure out how to make him feel better really is taxing.
on another note, sorry i know this entry is super long already, luke (just yesterday) started making crazy funny faces, like squinting and pulling his upper lip up. it's so hilarious, me and hubbs get such a crack out of him, especially when he does this while growling like a dinosaur, lol!

I'm a wife to the most kind and loving husband ever, a mother to two of the most beautiful baby boys you'll ever meet (Lucas, DOB 8/29/09 and Logan, DOB 12/20/11), a children's social worker by day and a photographer by night (more like, weekend). I love to bake and only cook because we need to eat. If I relied on my dear hubby to cook for us, we'd be eating bean and cheese burritos or quesadillas for dinner every night! There are so many things that I love, but most importantly, I love being a wife and mother and this is the place where I can document our life, mostly in photographs, today.
