are you interested in knowing more about me? luke? my gorgeous husband? i'm thinking about dedicating a post entirely to questions from you, my followers ;) that is IF you have any questions. i'll be so bold to say that nothing is off limits. ask me anything! ask a few questions if you'd like. if i don't get any questions, oh well, no biggie, just thought i'd liven it up around here a little ;)
ok, back to my quick update (seriously, my brain/mind really bounce around like this... every second of the day! it's quite exhausting!).
so i'm on the computer, a referral open in front of me. writing away, trying to organize the documents/my notes from the interviews before i start typing away, entering contacts from referrals over two weeks old (oppsie, we're supposed to have them entered into the system within 72 hours from contact, clearly not happening here :( i have luke's monitor here, staring at me in the face. it's somewhat ridiculous that we still (ever, really) use a monitor since our place is the size of a little larger of a shoe box than the room i'm in, and we can pretty much here an ant fart from the other end of the house! but whatever, this monitor provides peace, reassurance that my baby boy is still breathing.
he's rolling around in his crib right now, pressing all of Scout's buttons, i hear "2 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins of bedtime music." i guess Luke thinks 10 mins will cover it ;) oh, now i hear, "Hi Lucas, would you like to play?" lol.
Luke is getting so big, so fast! He's barely now walking on his own to the elevator, not that he couldn't before, we just never allowed it because we didn't want to be chasing after him! now he's just too heavy, he knows the way on his own, it's cute he's paid attention all these months ;)
He loves climbing up on chairs and couches now. Getting up and down from the bed (this is still a little rough but he tries, and usually falls on his butt on the way down ;)
He's a crazy, crazy boy. He loves head butting us, so grabbing my face, attempting to take a big bite out of it! he's so affectionate, laying his head on my shoulders, legs, whatever he can get ahold of. he's better about not throwing so many fits (whew! couldn't wait for that to pass!).
He loves to eat, it's the cutest thing when he walks me over to the kitchen in the morning and points at the stove like, "get to work, mom!" clearly he's hungry. i have a sense of pride that he points to the stove (and not, say, the pantry), it shows i cook at the stove often ;) He's a great eater, I'll pretend it's because i'm a great cook (when i KNOW that's not the case, lol).
update on me: my day job is still crazy, my side/photography job is pretty non-existent but i'm not in a rush so i can wait ;) i wish there were more hours in the day and, at least for my time at work, there were two of me! work is seriously CRAZY! i'm on the verge of a panic attack every.single.day because there's just too.much.work! i'm worried that i won't be able to get pregnant because of all the stress :( oh, have i even mentioned that we're trying again??? well, not really trying/trying, like not testing or anything, i'm too exhausted to add THAT to my plate but we're more like, *hoping* it happens sooner than later.
ok, gotta get back to my referrals. please come out of hiding and leave a comment, ask a question, something! it'll help get me over here more often with updates, promise ;)
and because posts are better with photos, here's one i took last night. it's the first moon shots i've ever taken and i must admit, i'm a little in love <3

I'm a wife to the most kind and loving husband ever, a mother to two of the most beautiful baby boys you'll ever meet (Lucas, DOB 8/29/09 and Logan, DOB 12/20/11), a children's social worker by day and a photographer by night (more like, weekend). I love to bake and only cook because we need to eat. If I relied on my dear hubby to cook for us, we'd be eating bean and cheese burritos or quesadillas for dinner every night! There are so many things that I love, but most importantly, I love being a wife and mother and this is the place where I can document our life, mostly in photographs, today.
I am still following : ) Your little boy is SO SO adorable!
ReplyDeleteQuestions...
What does your husband do? You may have covered this in a previous post, but I dont remember - sorry!
How long have you an your husband known each other?
It sound like you have a small-ish place... How many bedrooms do you have? When you have another baby, will they have their own rooom, or will they share? Will they stay in your room for awhile?
Thats all I've got this early in the morning : )
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI have been following you for quite some time and I have left comments here and there. I don't have nearly as many blog followers as you do, but other than family and some close non-blogging friends, I never get any comments. I would love to hear from people who read my blog though! Anyway, your little boy is absolutely adorable. And I love reading your posts as well as looking at your pictures. Good luck with baby #2...how exciting!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI'm still a follower:) I think your little Lucas is a cutie pie! I have a few questions, not sure if you've covered them already:
1-How did you and your husband meet?
2- Do you want to have more children? If so, how far apart would you want them to be?
3- What kind of camera do you have? What are your favorite settings for taking pictures of Lucas?
That's all for now. I also have a blog, would love for you to stop by and visit sometime: www.peanutandme.com
I work in the Social Work field also (psych hospital) so I can relate to how draining the mental health field can be..
My Peanut has Violet and I think it's the cutest toy ever;)
Nevermind my question #2!! I just realized you answered that question in this post :) Good luck! How exciting for you guys!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog! I am a semi-new follower, but what caught my interest was your photos. And congrats on trying again! That is sooo exciting!

I follow, but I usually read through my google reader at work and since blogs are blocked, I can't comment. Anyway, I am here! Love the moon shot!
ReplyDeletegahhh i want to meet your little boy. he is such a cutie! is that creepy? =X
ReplyDeletecongrats to trying again. that means more pictures for us to see.
Hi! I have been a follower for about 8 months now! It's really weird how I started following- I think I must of found you by clicking randomly on something on the bump and there your blog was with the cutest baby boy I have ever seen. Seriously, he is the cutest! I only wish I didn't live on the opposite coast as you because I would love for my 15 month old daughter Natalie to meet your precious babe! Now on to the question- (and forgive me if you have already covered this) but when I first started looking, I went to old posts and found a letter you wrote to Lucas and in it you mentioned that you were pregnant before but miscarried? Did you have to do any special treatments to get pregnant and to carry Lucas to the end of the pregnancy? I struggled to get pregnant and that letter really touched me, I am sure he will treasure it someday. Oh and another question, have you always lived on the west coast??
ReplyDeleteSorry this was so long, but I wanted to show some love so that you keep on posting! Yours and How the Foreste Grows are my favorite blogs!
awwww! thanks for the love everyone! i'll make sure to answer all of these questions - and any more that come in, in my next post :)
ReplyDeleteand lol, tripps! i know exactly what you mean, you guys probably know luke a lot better than many of my family members! and yes, another baby would mean you wouldn't have to see a billion pics of luke anymore, ahaha! i know you guys love looking at all his pics as much as i do ;)
jen - thanks for letting me know that you follow through google reader, that would make it easier for me if i did that, too! catching up on blogs is such a luxury that i haven't had in a while :/
elizabeth - thanks for following! if you want to see more recent photos, i try and post more regularly on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/amberwoodphotography) and then there's my new blog (www.amberwoodphotography.com). you won't see too much of luke on these two, well, depending how busy i am professionally but i'm really going to try and be better about posting more often here. now that i know i have at least a few regular followers ;)
shazia - thanks for letting me know that i'm not alone in the "no comments" department ;)
nitzalie - i can't wait to check out your blog and start following! it's nice to know that you're in *this* field, too! yay for moral support!!
I follow :-)
ReplyDeleteThe questions I was going to ask have already been covered!
I'm a little late to the game, so it looks like all the good questions have been asked! I have not been so hot with keeping up with blogs, or keeping up with my own blog. It is amazing how hard it is to do anything when you have a little boy the age of ours! I hope you guys are doing great. He is cuter than ever, you are one lucky mama.
