i honestly didn't expect to feel this sad after dropping off the boys at grandma Sheli's. this is the first time we've ever spent the night (make that three nights!) away from Logan and the first time Luke has ever spent more than one night away from us. i feel like my favorite pet just died :( while the hubbs is scratching lotto tickets, getting in the Vegas mode, lol. i know the boys will be fine, Luke will have a ton of fun and Loges will be showered with so much attention and love that i'm sure he'll barely miss us!!
as of Friday i've completely wean Loges from the breast (if my breasts would just get that memo now!). he seems to be completely fine with it, which of course makes it easier for me! formula is a new experience for all of us!
speaking of new experiences, Loges ate his first solid today, Oatmeal!! he seemed to like it just fine. i gave him a few spoon fulls before he started rejecting it, he opened his mouth and swallowed it down just fine, even reached for the spoon and bowl a couple times, lol.
i originally wanted to start him with avocado, like we did Luke, only the past few days it seemed as though 6 oz of formula, every three hours wasn't cutting it for him so i thought maybe he'd appreciate a more hearty solid to start ;)
i plan on cooking all his food and will use wholesomebabyfood.com as my go to guide for info and recipes. it was a pretty easy, good experience making all of Luke's baby food so i don't see why i couldn't do it for Logan, aside from the not having any time thing, there's only that ;) we'll see, i'm pretty lax when it comes to rules with our second one, lol. i thought i'd be more heartbroken that i've thrown in the towel on breastfeeding at 6 months, but eh, i'm kinda diggin' this bottle-feeding, powdered-formula convenience. pack, shake and go, i like it!
what else?! oh, so i was supposed to weigh in tomorrow for my first weekly check-in. well yeah, that isn't gonna happen. i injured my foot last week while working out so i've had to lay off the gym so my foot could heal (as much as possible) before our Vegas trip. i still walk with a limp and my left foot still hurts, but it's a lot better. i hope to get back to working out as soon as i get back from Vegas. i'll be back for the first official weigh in next Monday (and won't expect too much since i'll be throwing back margaritas like no ones business for the next few days!).
i miss my babes SO much but look forward to a fun trip away!!!

I'm a wife to the most kind and loving husband ever, a mother to two of the most beautiful baby boys you'll ever meet (Lucas, DOB 8/29/09 and Logan, DOB 12/20/11), a children's social worker by day and a photographer by night (more like, weekend). I love to bake and only cook because we need to eat. If I relied on my dear hubby to cook for us, we'd be eating bean and cheese burritos or quesadillas for dinner every night! There are so many things that I love, but most importantly, I love being a wife and mother and this is the place where I can document our life, mostly in photographs, today.
