(i apologize for the mess!)

and luke helping daddy take the new comp out of the box ;)

but now my butt hurts, it's numb, from sitting here for about 30 mins, i'm not used to sitting at a desk. i already miss my laptop, where i could crawl up in bed, bent over, legs underneath me, elbows on the bed with my hands under my chin.... boo! i miss my laptop!! :( not to mention all my LR presets and PSE actions (sharpening and resizing for web, especially) that i miss! oh, and this monitor isn't calibrated... yet! so please excuse pink Luke and Orange hubbs ;)
so you wanna know why i'm so exhausted when my little 11 month old boy has been sttn, successfully, for over 2 weeks now?! stress from work and throwing this birthday party! what a horrible horrible thing for these two to come up at the exact.same.time! seriously, i've been in training for almost 2 months now and will be going out into the field, working full-time as a children's social worker in the ER unit (that's the craziest unit to be in right now, ok, ever! the unit where workers have the reputation of "baby snatchers" ugh, but i digress!) right at the same time we'll be throwing the biggest party since, oh, our wedding!
i'm trying to focus on the joy and celebration of Luke turning 1! with all that's going on, though, it's a lot to handle and it seems the only way i've been able to deal with it is by sleeping :( which, of course, is so NOT conducive to getting ready for "the biggest party since our wedding!"
and since i've been laptop-less for over a week now, i haven't taken many pics (hate the idea of images sitting on my card, piling up!). but here are a few pics of what we've/Luke has been up to lately. we'll be taking his 11-month pics tomorrow so i'll be updating with those and his monthly stats in a couple days.
hubbs turned 33 on 7/21... but it must've been my birthday because i had 2 margaritas! TWO!

luke's 5 thousandth injury... ran right into a bedroom door, started getting swelling right away but hubbs was able to keep it at bay by holding a cool compress (ice pack) to it for 15-20 minutes (while Luke was entertained by Yo Gabba Gabba).

mommy playing hide-n-seek with Luke

and how cool do his eyes look here?! too bad it's super soft but oh well, love the cat eyes anyway ;)

btw - he thought it was fun to shut the door in mommy's face.. then i'd "reappear" and scare/excite the bejeesus out of him. we've been playing everyday since!
luke playing it off like he's just reading his book (and not about to get the speaker that he's forbidden from!).

and checking out the fish

and mommy lovin' on his yummy rolls ;)

I'm a wife to the most kind and loving husband ever, a mother to two of the most beautiful baby boys you'll ever meet (Lucas, DOB 8/29/09 and Logan, DOB 12/20/11), a children's social worker by day and a photographer by night (more like, weekend). I love to bake and only cook because we need to eat. If I relied on my dear hubby to cook for us, we'd be eating bean and cheese burritos or quesadillas for dinner every night! There are so many things that I love, but most importantly, I love being a wife and mother and this is the place where I can document our life, mostly in photographs, today.
Yaaaay! I've missed seeing that adorable little face. So glad you're back up and running! :) I absolutely LOVE the "reading" photo, by the way. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry things have been so stressful and exhausting for you. I'm sure the party will be a huge hit! Here's hoping you can get some good rest, and that everything falls smoothly into place for you!
thanks stina! i just picked up additional b-12 tablets (i'm already taking a daily dose in my prenatals but more couldn't hurt right?!) so here's hoping i see some change in my energy level in the next week. thanks for the comment :)
ReplyDeleteI love my imac, but I totally understand missing the laptop. SOmetimes I miss lounging on the couch with it in my lap too!
